Product Counsel (Blockchain)

Location: San Francisco, California; in-person

Salary: $255,000–$300,000 per year, plus a long-term incentive package

What you will do

• Advise product, engineering, hardware, cryptography, design, and security teams throughout product development and launch.
• Provide guidance on digital identity, biometrics, blockchain, consumer financial technology, privacy, consumer protection, online safety, platform governance, and AI-enabled systems.
• Assess legal, regulatory, reputational, trust, safety, security, and user risks related to products, features, experiments, and business models.
• Draft and advise on product terms, disclosures, policies, user flows, and internal guidance materials.
• Advise on patents, trademarks, copyright, licensing, open source, and technology risk management.
• Build scalable legal processes, playbooks, templates, review frameworks, and self-service resources for product teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as product counsel, preferably with in-house experience supporting consumer technology, fintech, blockchain, digital identity, or other highly regulated platforms.
• Experience advising across the full product lifecycle and navigating multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory issues.
• Knowledge of several relevant areas, including financial services, blockchain, digital identity, AI, privacy, biometrics, consumer protection, online safety, platform governance, and intellectual property.
• Strong technical fluency, business judgment, analytical skills, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Ability to work in person from San Francisco, California.
