Product Counsel (AI Robotics)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base salary: $252,800–$3,239,000 annually, plus a 25% bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead legal strategy across the full lifecycle of industrial robotics products.
• Advise R&D, engineering, and product teams on legal and policy considerations for developing and deploying intelligent robotics systems.
• Review product features, evaluate risks, and build compliance pathways with product managers, engineers, and designers.
• Collaborate with legal, policy, regulatory, and compliance teams on emerging laws, regulations, and policies.
• Communicate legal and business considerations to senior management.
• Develop ways to use AI tools to augment individual and team legal work.

Requirements

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 7 years of attorney-level experience in private practice and in-house roles.
• Experience counseling on product, intellectual property, commercial, competition, and privacy law.
• Experience working across legal, policy, regulatory, and compliance teams.
• Admission to the California bar in good standing, or authorization to practice law in California through registered in-house status.

• Experience advising technology companies on emerging technologies.
• Experience advising senior executives and leadership teams on legal and business risks.
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior legal team members.
• Experience with robotics, software, open source, and AI.
