Product Counsel (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Washington, D.C., or San Francisco

Salary: $150,000–$207,000 annually for Washington, D.C. hires; $158,000–$217,000 annually for Bay Area hires

What you will do

• Provide clear, actionable legal guidance to product, engineering, business, and marketing teams.
• Draft and negotiate technology transactions, including technology partner, inbound IP licensing, and marketplace agreements.
• Advise on AI inference offerings, novel technology questions, Internet law, and product commercialization.
• Conduct privacy-by-design reviews, document data flows, and support PIAs and other privacy deliverables.
• Draft terms of service, disclosures, policies, marketing materials, and promotional agreements.
• Support invention disclosures, patent strategy, trade-secret protection, and scalable Legal team processes.

Requirements

• JD degree with strong academic credentials and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably with technology companies.
• Experience or strong interest in innovative technologies; Internet security and infrastructure experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of copyright and Internet law, including areas such as the AI Act, Data Act, net neutrality, DMCA, or CFAA.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, prioritization, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Jira or another project management solution is desirable.
