AI & Product Counsel (AI)

Location: Mountain View, CA or Seattle, WA, USA

Base salary: $151,000–$260,000 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonus: 0–20% of base salary.

What you will do

• Review AI-powered product features and complex technical specifications, providing practical legal guidance and mitigating risk.
• Conduct company-wide AI reviews and balance engineering requirements with legal frameworks.
• Partner with engineering, product management, security, and privacy teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Communicate complex legal and technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build scalable processes for AI governance and product compliance.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and 7+ years of total legal experience, including major law firm and in-house experience.
• Experience in product counseling or AI governance.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Creative problem-solving ability and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of privacy, data governance, and AI.
• IAPP certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or AIGP.
• Expertise in the EU AI Act and e-commerce industries.
