Staff Backend Engineer (Web3)

Location: San Francisco, United States

Salary: $225,500–$265,000 per year, plus a long-term incentive package.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and scale mission-critical backend systems for the hirify.global ID protocol and ecosystem.
• Build infrastructure for credential issuance and registration, decentralized cloud applications, and authenticator lifecycle management.
• Work with MPC systems, blockchain integrations, zero-knowledge proving systems, biometric verification, and recovery platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and lead complex cross-functional engineering initiatives from design through delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Shape the technical roadmap and strategy for the hirify.global ID platform.

Requirements

• Experience in senior technical leadership positions.
• Proven experience leading complex initiatives from start to finish.
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in designing and implementing reliable, scalable software systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Background in backend systems, preferably distributed systems or identity management platforms.
