Backend Engineer (Go/Java)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, San Francisco, or Sunnyvale, United States

Salary: $210,000–$240,000 per year for the SF/Bay Area and NYC market

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale backend systems focused on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Architect and develop cloud-native systems and high-quality codebases, preferably using AWS.
• Define roadmaps and implement features in collaboration with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Address complex infrastructure and ambiguous product challenges from the ground up.
• Deliver challenging projects on schedule while maintaining high quality.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute technical hirify.globalership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience and a proven record of shipping successful projects.
• Strong command of at least one programming language, preferably Go or Java.
• Experience designing large-scale systems and developing and maintaining high-quality codebases.
• Demonstrated technical hirify.globalership, mentoring, and guidance of junior engineers.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively, navigate ambiguity, and deliver projects with high quality.
