Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: New York City, United States; on-site. Candidates must be based in New York or willing to relocate. Relocation and visa support are available.

Salary: $200,000–$400,000 annual US base salary + equity, with offers based on experience, expertise, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Build and evolve core banking systems across central bank and blockchain infrastructure.
• Own major backend projects end to end as an independent individual contributor.
• Translate complex financial problems into clean, simple, and reliable code.
• Make system design decisions and technical tradeoffs across data modeling, edge cases, and architecture.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and clients to deliver banking capabilities at scale.
• Increase ownership rapidly, influence technical direction, and support junior engineers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a backend focus.
• 1+ years of experience in an early-stage or small startup environment.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with system design.
• Ability to own problems and projects independently from definition through delivery.
• Based in New York or willing to relocate to New York.
