Salary: $217,000–$260,000 per year, plus a long-term incentive package and possible variable compensation.

What you will do

• Own the Device Software automation and QA strategy as the independent verification function and final release gate.
• Recruit and hire a self-sufficient QA team covering software, hardware, and device fleet management.
• Manage build and release activities, including scheduling, readiness reviews, and release notes.
• Design and operate a large-scale automated test fleet with test devices, stations, and custom hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Architect test infrastructure spanning Orb and future devices, backend services, CI/CD pipelines, and fleet-management tools.
• Automate regression, smoke, nightly, negative, and fault-injection testing while investigating and triaging field issues.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience debugging software, real devices, test rigs, and electrical signals.
• Experience designing or owning automation systems at scale, including fleets of test devices.
• Strong ability to write and review maintainable test code and build reusable test frameworks and libraries.
• Ability to read production firmware and software code and translate system behavior into targeted tests.
• Systems-thinking approach to anticipating bottlenecks in testing, release processes, and infrastructure.
• Ability to set direction in ambiguous environments and collaborate effectively across firmware, software, hardware, and backend teams.
