Systems Test Engineer (Embedded Hardware)

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 USD annually, depending on experience and level

What you will do

• Design features, develop test cases, and perform manual tests on new hardware and firmware integrations.
• Integrate mechanical components, electrical boards, embedded firmware, and application logic.
• Develop automated system-level regression tests and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Review firmware code, identify limitations, propose fixes, and add test coverage.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering counterparts to release reliable features.
• Root-cause system issues, exercise operational limits, and evaluate tools that improve testing.

Requirements

• Fluent scripting and automation experience with Python.
• Good understanding of C for analyzing device functionality.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and complex system-level debugging.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and device or component datasheets.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and data analysis tools such as Jenkins, AWS, and Grafana.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Nice to have

• Experience with BMS, batteries, and power electronics.
• Experience with CAN, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet communications.
• Windows, macOS, and Linux platform experience.
