Lead Software Engineer, AI & Robotics Test Infrastructure

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; 5 days/week in-office at the headquarters

Salary: $165,000–$235,000 USD annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Architect and build a modular Python/C++ test execution engine from the ground up.
• Develop automated ML evaluation pipelines using large datasets and synthetic simulation edge cases to detect model regressions.
• Orchestrate end-to-end autonomy and navigation tests across simulation and CI/CD systems.
• Build software for Hardware-in-the-Loop rigs and create profiling tools for compute load, memory utilization, and real-time performance.
• Package test software for factory-floor End-of-Line validation, including operator-friendly interfaces and automated pass/fail scripts.
• Lead design-for-testability reviews, establish testing standards, and mentor engineers on automated testing practices.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience building test infrastructure, automation frameworks, or CI/CD tooling for complex systems.
• Expert Python skills and strong C++ proficiency, including test frameworks such as Pytest, Google Test, or Catch2.
• Experience with Linux, Bash, Docker, and automated testing in CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Buildkite.
• Systems-level understanding of software interacting with physical hardware and experience diagnosing robotics integration failures.
• Familiarity with testing non-deterministic AI/ML models or robotics perception systems at scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS 2, eCAL, or custom publish/subscribe architectures.
• Experience building test reporting dashboards with Grafana, Foxglove, or custom web interfaces.
