Software Engineer II – Test/Internal Tooling

Salary: $140,000–$164,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain testing frameworks for on-vehicle software and cloud-based services.
• Build and maintain hardware test stands for vehicle subsystems.
• Maintain and improve the continuous integration pipeline for reliability, speed, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop internal software tooling with hardware and software teams.
• Contribute to regulatory documentation, software traceability, and test protocols.
• Lead projects when appropriate, defining milestones and supporting delivery.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Programming experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript and systems languages such as C++ or Rust.
• Experience or strong interest in software test infrastructure, including correctness, performance, and system design.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.
• Working proficiency with Linux and the software test, build, and deployment lifecycle.
• Experience leading technical design, setting direction, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• 2+ years building test software or internal tooling for hard-tech products and cloud software.
• Experience in safety-critical domains such as autonomous vehicles, industrial control, or aerospace.
• Knowledge of rail control systems.
• Cross-functional product collaboration experience and familiarity with polyglot codebases.
