Export and Compliance Classification Expert

Location: United States of America, Texas; hybrid work with an expectation of approximately two days per week from an HPE office

Salary: USD 81,500–187,500 annual base salary in Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Act as a subject matter expert in export and import classification for technology, software, third-party, and intangible products.
• Classify emerging AI, advanced computing, semiconductor, and other highly regulated technologies under the Harmonized System, Export Administration Regulations, and ITAR.
• Support classification for platform-based and service-oriented business models using global ERP systems and scalable digital workflows.
• Maintain audit-based processes, quality controls, business continuity, and standard reporting for classification operations.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders during product lifecycle and roadmap reviews to assess classification and regulatory impacts.
• Build knowledge resources, transfer expertise, and support succession planning for advanced classification responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Approximately 4–6 years of experience in supply chain, customs, or global trade functions; a broker’s license is relevant.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory analysis, MRP, ATP, master scheduling, and national and international trade requirements.
• Very strong analytical, data modeling, statistical analysis, financial modeling, communication, influencing, and relationship management skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, plus project management, leadership, team-building, and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Mastery of English and the local language is required.
