TL;DR
Senior Analyst-Import/Export (Classification) (Global Trade Compliance): Classifying semiconductor and other technical products under U.S. HTS, ECCN, Schedule B, and international trade classification systems with an accent on regulatory analysis and technical documentation. Focus on preparing CCATS and binding ruling requests, interpreting engineering specifications, and maintaining compliant classification records.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; inside work 100%

Annual base salary: $57,784–$128,000 USD, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

  • Classify products using U.S. HTS, ECCN, Schedule B, and international classification codes.
  • Analyze product specifications, datasheets, schematics, and block diagrams for complex classification decisions.
  • Prepare and submit CCATS requests, including encryption-related documentation, and U.S. Customs binding ruling requests.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and customers to gather technical information and provide classification guidance.
  • Maintain classification records, support audits, and monitor regulatory changes.
  • Guide junior analysts and contribute expertise to the Global Trade Compliance group.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of directly related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant global trade compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations, Commerce Control List, U.S. HTS, ECCN, and Schedule B classification principles.
  • Experience classifying electronics, semiconductors, or other technical products under U.S. import and export regulations.
  • Experience preparing, supporting, or submitting CCATS requests, including encryption-related submissions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status under 8 USC 1324b(a)(3); U.S. work authorization is required. The role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business/trade, supply chain/logistics, engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, the U.S. Munitions List, EU/UK/ASEAN classification systems, logistics processes, and international shipping procedures.
  • Knowledge of SQL, reporting, analytics, or data visualization tools such as Tableau.
