Import / Export Compliance Specialist

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America

Salary: $59,350–$89,600 annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for U.S. candidates.

What you will do

• Ensure compliance with U.S. import and export regulations covering country of origin, preferential trade agreements, HTS classifications, valuation, and duty drawback.
• Plan and execute trade compliance initiatives independently and integrate trade controls into daily operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase compliance and operational efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits, including assessments, corrective actions, and process enhancements.
• Build relationships with U.S. customs authorities and industry associations.
• Apply expertise in trucking and transportation, Foreign-Trade Zones, and bonded warehouses to optimize logistics and compliance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in import/export compliance with international responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations and government systems including ACE, AES, and ITACS.
• Understanding of North American customs import and export compliance regimes.
• Analytical and data modeling skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, adaptability, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Foreign-Trade Zones, bonded warehouses, first sale, and duty drawback programs.
• Licensed Customs Broker credential.
