Trade Compliance Lead (Global Trade)

Location: USA remote with up to 20% travel to customer and operational sites

Salary: $165,000–$227,700 base annual compensation, plus benefits

What you will do

• Define and lead the global trade compliance strategy, governance framework, operating model, and capability roadmap.
• Establish enterprise policies and controls for import/export compliance, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, sanctions, and licensing.
• Lead export controls, restricted-party screening, end-use due diligence, and technology and data transfer controls.
• Embed trade compliance into ERP systems, workflows, product development, supply chain execution, installation, and service operations.
• Oversee customs brokers, freight forwarders, import/export operations, audits, risk assessments, KPIs, and continuous improvement.
• Advise executive leadership and build a high-performing global trade compliance organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Law, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in trade compliance, global trade operations, or international logistics.
• 5+ years in a leadership role with program oversight and decision-making responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. and international trade regulations, classification, country of origin, export controls, and licensing.
• Experience supporting multi-site, project-based operations, preferably in automation, manufacturing, or capital equipment.
• Experience implementing or managing trade compliance systems such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, or similar; a valid driver’s license and ability to travel are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA, JD, or master’s degree in International Business or Supply Chain.
• Professional certification such as Licensed Customs Broker or CCS.
