Medical Director (Diabetes & Renal)

Location: Home office based in Princeton, New Jersey; candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate to the area. The role requires 20–30% overnight travel.

Salary: $250,000–$315,000 base compensation per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus and other long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Serve as the medical subject matter expert for products and clinical data in the diabetes and renal therapeutic areas.
• Develop therapeutic-area medical strategies, product development input, and evidence generation plans with Medical Affairs leadership.
• Review clinical trial programs, support investigator identification and training, and participate in investigator-sponsored study decisions.
• Lead national advisory boards, engage key opinion leaders and professional associations, and present clinical data to external stakeholders.
• Guide publication planning, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, independent medical education, and speaker programs.
• Provide medical guidance to Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Information, and Field Medical Affairs.

Requirements

• MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD required; MD or DO preferred.
• At least 5 years of combined clinical, research, or pharmaceutical experience.
• Strong familiarity with clinical trial design, oversight, assessment, GCP principles, medical product support, publications, investigator-sponsored studies, and medical education.
• Strong strategic, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills in a complex matrix environment.
• Clinical experience managing patients with diabetes and subspecialty training in endocrinology and diabetes are strongly preferred.
• Must be based within commuting distance of Princeton, NJ, or be willing to relocate to that area.
