Senior Water & Wastewater Treatment Engineer

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; hybrid work in the Phoenix office and field environments

What you will do

• Serve as project manager and/or technical lead for municipal water and wastewater treatment facility projects.
• Plan, design, and evaluate new treatment plants, expansions, and rehabilitation projects.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, feasibility studies, process calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Lead treatment process work covering filtration, disinfection, biological treatment, solids handling, odor control, and residuals management.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation and controls teams to deliver constructible solutions.
• Manage client relationships, support proposals and fee development, mentor engineers, and contribute to quality assurance and quality control.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in water and/or wastewater treatment engineering, including facility design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Experience managing engineering projects and leading technical teams.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and field environment in Phoenix, including exposure to construction hazards, weather, heat, humidity, noise, and bodies of water.

Nice to have

• Experience managing treatment projects through design and construction.
• Experience with treatment process modeling, permitting, and regulatory coordination.
• Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater standards and best practices.
• Interest in business development and long-term client relationships.
