Environmental Manager

Location: Primarily in-office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA

What you will do

• Manage the Environmental Department, staff workload, priorities, and project delivery.
• Lead environmental and engineering projects from inception through completion, maintaining scope, budget, schedule, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage environmental assessments, impact studies, investigations, site inspections, feasibility studies, remediation plans, monitoring, permitting, and facility compliance activities.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans, stormwater management systems, and erosion and sedimentation controls.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to environmental professionals, engineers, CAD technicians, designers, and other staff.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations while supporting client collaboration and environmental business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or environmental oversight.
• Experience managing and delivering complex projects, with strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
• Leadership, team management, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with PennDOT projects and other agencies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required; the role includes fieldwork, travel, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering license or certification such as PE, PG, CHMM, or QEP.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
