Civil Engineer I (Energy Land Development)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA office; daily travel for field assignments required

Salary: Starting at $70,000 per year, based on position, experience, and licensure.

What you will do

• Support project managers with technical civil engineering design for solar, natural gas, pipeline, and other energy-sector land development projects.
• Prepare Civil 3D designs, permit and construction drawings, calculations, reports, and contract documents.
• Conduct site investigations, field sampling, monitoring, infiltration testing, and GPS-enabled data collection.
• Analyze mapping and field data to support feasibility determinations.
• Observe construction, document progress, and identify deviations from approved drawings and field decisions.
• Manage submittals and RFIs, provide technical project support, and perform civil project administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• 1–2 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related Autodesk products.
• Ability to travel daily for field assignments and work extended hours when needed to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or related Autodesk certifications.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software.
