Survey Crew Chief

Salary: $30–$36 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and licensing status.

What you will do

• Collaborate with project managers to define survey requirements and objectives.
• Plan and organize field projects, including resource and equipment allocation.
• Lead, supervise, and train survey crews to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
• Conduct field surveys using total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, drones, 3D scanners, and related equipment.
• Review field data, implement quality-control measures, and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with clients and equipment managers while maintaining safety standards and instrument readiness.

Requirements

• Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field; higher education is preferred.
• At least 3 years of land-surveying experience, including at least 1 year in project management.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and software.
• Ability to work primarily outdoors and occasionally in an office.
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally, sometimes over substantial distances, with or without accommodation.
• Valid driver’s license, strong leadership skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
