AV Installation Superintendent

Location: Kenilworth, New Jersey, USA and the New York metropolitan area; onsite work at client job sites with frequent local travel and occasional out-of-town travel.

Salary: $42–$52 per hour

Designs and builds audiovisual and media technology environments for corporate, entertainment, sports, retail, and government clients.

What you will do

• Oversee on-site installation activity and coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, subcontractors, union trades, and installation crews.
• Lead and delegate work across multiple installation crews while monitoring progress, timelines, and field issues.
• Supervise the physical installation of audiovisual, networking, low-voltage, fiber-optic, and related technology systems.
• Maintain job-site quality control, inspect completed work, resolve discrepancies, and address safety hazards using required PPE.
• Read functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams, build and wire custom panels, and perform fiber-optic termination and testing.
• Track materials, tools, vehicles, inventories, certifications, work hours, and daily project activity while providing status updates to the project manager.

Requirements

• At least five years of installation technician or related industry experience.
• Advanced audiovisual installation skills and familiarity with audio, video, and networking equipment.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical concepts and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
• AVIXA CTS Certification and OSHA 30 Certificate required.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with company insurance requirements required.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience; strong communication and customer service skills.

• AVIXA CTS-I Certification.
• NYC OSHA 30 Certificate.
