Survey Crew Chief

Location: Must be based in Chattanooga, TN, USA (On-site)

What you will do

• Lead field teams in executing topographic, boundary, and ALTA/ASCM land title surveys.
• Operate advanced equipment including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, UAVs, and high-definition scanners.
• Supervise, mentor, and coach junior field staff to ensure project objectives are met.
• Communicate project goals, challenges, and progress with clients and the internal project team.
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Ensure all survey equipment and vehicles are maintained in good working condition.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate company vehicles.
• Proficiency in operating total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Ability to interpret complex design and construction plans.
• Ability to travel for up to a week at a time and work in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and navigate uneven terrain.

Nice to have

• Ability to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
• Experience with Trimble and Carlson surveying equipment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Inroads software.
