Quality Inspector (Drones)

Location: Seattle, WA — on-site

Salary: $35–$45 per hour, plus equity

What you will do

• Perform in-process and final inspections of assembled products and subassemblies, including optics, PCBAs, precision-machined parts, and composite components.
• Use calibrated metrology equipment to evaluate complex hardware, including soldering, harnesses, mechanical fastening, and adhesives.
• Report nonconformances and establish containment processes for suspect material.
• Interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and inspection plans to define inspection methods.
• Develop SOPs for inspectors and technicians and support Material Review Board discussions.
• Partner with manufacturing technicians, Quality, Test, and Design Engineering teams on root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of technician experience in aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing.
• 2+ years of experience reading work instructions, engineering drawings, or inspection plans.
• 2+ years of experience using hand tools and calibrated tools such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
• 2+ years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Associate’s degree or higher.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of quality inspection experience.
• Knowledge of SCAR and Nonconformance Reports (NCR).
• Experience with Material Review Board activities.
• ASQ Quality Inspector certification or equivalent.
• IPC-610 or IPC-620 inspector certification.
• Experience with Romer arms, comparators, CMMs, and metrology software.
