Installation Superintendent (AV Technology)

Location: Kenilworth, New Jersey, USA; on-site field work with frequent local travel to client job sites, occasional air travel, and periodic overtime or weekend work.

Salary: $42–$52 per hour

What you will do

• Direct on-site installation activity for audiovisual, networking, and other technology projects.
• Coordinate and delegate work among installation crews, subcontractors, union trades, contractors, and project managers.
• Monitor installation quality, timelines, safety, materials, tools, vehicles, and job-site documentation.
• Read functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams; build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
• Perform advanced fiber-optic cable handling, termination, installation, and testing.
• Provide technical guidance and training to installation technicians while resolving job-site issues independently.

Requirements

• Five or more years of installation technician or related industry experience.
• AVIXA CTS Certification and OSHA 30 Certificate required; NYC OSHA 30 is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Advanced audiovisual installation skills and familiarity with audio, video, and networking equipment.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical concepts and ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with company insurance requirements required.

• AVIXA CTS-I Certification.
• Other certifications relevant to the technology focus of the position.
