Technical Writer (Life Sciences)

Location: Onsite in Manassas, Virginia, United States

Salary: $68,000–$75,000 annually, with potential incentive compensation, merit increases, and a corporate bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop, write, edit, and review reports, SOPs, product information sheets, proposals, manuals, work instructions, and protocols.
• Research and review scientific literature and technical data to validate manufacturing specifications and documentation accuracy.
• Integrate information from multiple sources into consistent language, style, and formats.
• Maintain documentation quality, compliance, editorial standards, and ISO certification requirements.
• Revise and clarify procedures, specifications, forms, and other existing documentation in collaboration with content initiators.
• Support website maintenance, web detail pages, document accessibility initiatives, and project timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience; accepted alternatives include a master’s degree with no experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience.
• Experience in technical writing, editing, and scientific or technical documentation.
• Experience reviewing scientific literature and technical data for documentation accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality, consistency, compliance, and uniform style.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills for website maintenance and data mining.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to combine information from multiple sources.

Nice to have

• Background in biology, life sciences, or scientific documentation.
• Experience or education in molecular biology, microbiology, or bacteriology.
