Senior Legal Counsel

What you will do

• Support UK&I customer-facing deals throughout opportunity qualification, RFI/RFP and tender stages, negotiation, signature, and post-signature activities.
• Review, draft, mark up, and negotiate MSAs, framework agreements, SOWs, and schedules for technology, outsourcing, managed services, cloud/SaaS, digital transformation, consultancy, and engineering services.
• Advise on supplier-side risk allocation covering liability, indemnities, warranties, SLAs, customer dependencies, intellectual property, data protection, cybersecurity, audit, subcontracting, termination, change control, and exit.
• Support bid strategy, legal risk positions, negotiation assumptions, and governance or escalation processes under tender timelines.
• Collaborate with sales, delivery, commercial, finance, bid, data protection, security, and senior stakeholders to align legal advice with commercial strategy and delivery requirements.
• Lead or support large, strategic, or complex deals and contribute to dispute avoidance, training, knowledge sharing, and legal process improvement.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of English commercial contract law and technology contracting principles, including cloud, digital, data protection, and cybersecurity.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience for the Senior Legal Counsel level, including substantial ownership of complex or high-value customer negotiations.
• Regular experience with external customer-facing, supplier-side technology services contracts and RFI/RFP or tender processes.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, commercial judgment, and risk-assessment skills, with the ability to propose workable compromises and practical mitigation options.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate with sales, delivery, commercial, finance, bid, data protection, and security teams.
• Professional English, resilience under bid timelines, a collaborative working style, and openness to legal technology and continuous improvement.
