Compliance Lead (Data Protection)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with agreed days at home and at the ING MAD office

What you will do

• Act as an independent second-line expert in Data Protection and Compliance risk management.
• Advise, monitor, and challenge risks related to the processing of personal data and data subjects.
• Implement ING Group Compliance risk management frameworks, standards, local policies, processes, and controls.
• Assess first-line controls, oversee entity-level compliance risk profiles, and report risks to local and global risk functions.
• Execute monitoring activities, prepare reports, and inform management about Data Protection and Compliance issues.
• Develop training plans and instruct employees and management on applicable requirements, policies, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

• Advanced academic degree with technical, disciplinary, or management focus.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, data protection, risk management, auditing, or another control function.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Strong communication, influencing, critical thinking, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to apply risk considerations to new processes, technologies, and innovations and support change at a rapid pace.
