TL;DR
Program Manager V (Aerospace) (Defense and National Security): Managing the execution of aerospace and defense programs across scope, schedule, budget, resources, deliverables, risks, and customer engagement with an accent on rocket propulsion, subcontract management, and U.S. Government programs. Focus on building and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules and Plans, applying Earned Value Management, briefing executives and customers, and managing complex DoD program deliverables.
Location: Onsite or hybrid in Reno, Nevada; the posting also lists Folsom, California. Travel up to 25% to customer locations within the continental United States.
Salary: $180,405–$310,400 USD base salary annually.

What you will do
- Plan, direct, and monitor program scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and project-level profit and loss.
- Generate and review program management documentation, including status reports, planning materials, CDRLs, presentations, and PDR/CDR materials.
- Coordinate engineering, production, manpower, facilities, and project staff to ensure successful program execution and delivery.
- Identify, elevate, and resolve program risks and issues in collaboration with management and project teams.
- Serve as the primary customer contact, brief executives and customers, and participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving sessions.
- Support follow-on business development and proposal creation with customers and funding offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- 20+ years of program management experience, including 10–15 years managing DoD propulsion-related programs.
- Direct experience owning and managing Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management.
- Experience managing large subcontracts and programs for U.S. Government customers.
- Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
- U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret Clearance are required; must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate U.S. Security Clearance.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs.
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency programs involving MAP/PMAP requirements.
- Business development experience with funding customer offices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and Project.
