Senior Program Manager, Space and Missions Systems (Satellite Communications)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. Travel up to 20%.

Salary: $147,500–$233,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $183,000–$275,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead multiple concurrent programs developing and delivering advanced satellite communications solutions for space vehicles across all orbit regimes.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate personnel and resource allocation for program execution.
• Apply earned value management, variance analysis, risk management, and program dashboards to control cost, schedule, and performance.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and performance, including statements of work, performance tracking, and risk escalation.
• Build customer relationships and provide program, financial, and risk reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Support capture and business development activities, including capability roadmaps, proposal strategy, cost estimation, and execution planning.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in program or project management for complex technical development programs.
• Experience with cost, schedule, performance, earned value, variance, risk, supplier, and subcontract management.
• Experience leading proposal development and resolving complex program challenges independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain an active United States Top Secret/SCI Clearance are required.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, cross-functional leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Active U.S. Government security clearance with SSBI/SCI eligibility.
• PMP certification or equivalent and a relevant master’s degree.
• Experience with U.S. Government contracting, defense systems, systems engineering, integration, production, or sustainment.
• Experience with integrated space missions, space vehicles, ground segments, operations, payloads, or electronics development.
• Experience performing system-level analyses for technical and programmatic decisions.
