Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: US-PA-Cheswick (EMD); flexible work schedule with work from home 1 to 2 days per week or a 9/80 schedule.

What you will do

• Design and analyze complex electro-mechanical components, systems, tooling, and fixtures.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, Design to Cost, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
• Plan and execute manufacturing engineering activities, including methods analysis, product flow reviews, labor and equipment requirements, and productivity improvements.
• Develop and revise work instructions, routings, manufacturing processes, procedures, tool drawings, and related software.
• Support shop operations, field service, suppliers, quotations, design reviews, and project readiness activities.
• Lead technical and project team meetings, Kaizen Events, and process mapping initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is beneficial.
• At least 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Significant experience in an industrial, shop, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience creating models and drawings, presenting design reviews, and coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
• Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Defense, nuclear, power generation, or heavy manufacturing experience involving rotating machinery.
• Experience with machining, welding, winding, assembly, fixture design, or tooling manufacture.
• Experience performing stress analysis for lifting and handling equipment.
• Experience with 3D CAD packages such as SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Ability to drive change and demonstrate learning agility.
