CNC Machinist (Large VTL)

Location: Summerville, South Carolina, United States; onsite, 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Salary: $28.70–$41.49 per hour, plus an additional shift premium.

hirify.global Steam & Air Solutions designs, manufactures, tests, and services Navy and nuclear steam turbines, steam valves, and aftermarket steam parts at its manufacturing facility in Summerville.

What you will do

• Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes for precision machining to tolerances within 0.001 inch.
• Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Select tooling and materials, monitor machining processes, and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to identify defects and verify conformance to specifications.
• Maintain machines, perform minor repairs, and report mechanical issues to maintenance.
• Document production and inspection results while following safety procedures and maintaining an organized work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience operating CNC machines and vertical lathes.
• Ability to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency standards and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist height and transport objects 10 feet.
• Must be a United States citizen due to Department of Defense requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense security clearances and approvals.

Nice to have

• Completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience operating Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, or Momentum 2500 machines.
