Machinist – Large CNC Vertical Lathes (2nd Shift)

Location: Summerville, South Carolina, United States; onsite, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Salary: $25.38–$36.63 per hour, plus shift premium

What you will do

• Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes for precision machining to tolerances within 0.001 inches.
• Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Select tooling and materials, and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling during production.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to identify defects and verify conformance.
• Maintain machines, perform minor repairs, and report mechanical issues to maintenance.
• Document production and inspection results while following safety and housekeeping procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience operating CNC machines and vertical lathes.
• Ability to maintain quality and efficiency standards and communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist height and transport objects 10 feet.
• US citizenship is required due to Department of Defense requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.

Nice to have

• Completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience operating Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, or Momentum 2500 machines.
