Senior Vice President, Accounting (Banking)

Location: 11550 Ent Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO, United States

Salary: $275,000–$325,000 annually, plus a 35% annual target bonus and a $400 per pay period car allowance.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise accounting function, including month-end close, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and accounting records.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, close governance, documentation standards, and internal control frameworks.
• Oversee accounts payable, fixed assets, employee expense administration, tax support, and accounting operations.
• Lead audit readiness, external audit support, issue resolution, and preparation of accounting and control documentation.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, purchase accounting, complex transactions, and post-close control processes.
• Modernize accounting systems, workflows, automation, reconciliation tools, and reporting while building and developing the accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, audit, or financial institution finance leadership experience.
• Significant leadership experience with month-end close, general ledger governance, accounting policy, reconciliations, internal controls, audit support, and tax compliance oversight.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, reconciliation methodologies, and close governance.
• Experience in a complex financial institution, credit union, bank, regulated financial services company, or multi-entity environment.
• CPA certification required upon hire; equivalent senior-level accounting, controllership, financial institution, or audit leadership experience may be considered.

• Certified Management Accountant or another accounting, finance, or management accounting credential.
