Accounting Lead (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in New York City at the SoHo office

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Own monthly and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable, credit card programs, and employee reimbursements.
• Improve quarterly billing and collections, including QA testing and collaboration with Engineering to scale billing functionality.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Legal, and other teams on initiatives, product launches, and financial analysis.
• Manage audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, process automation, system enhancements, internal controls, and leadership reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting and financial operations experience.
• End-to-end experience preparing financial statements.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and significant experience with accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with tax provision and compliance, audits, billing systems, or systems implementations.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a startup, fintech, or SaaS environment.
• Experience with QA testing and billing functionality.
