FinOps Engineer (Finance Data)

Location: Hybrid in Mexico City, Mexico; São Paulo, Brazil; or Bogotá, Colombia

What you will do

• Design and maintain canonical FinOps data models covering unit economics, cost structure, margins, and pricing.
• Establish a documented single source of truth for financial metrics across teams.
• Build and maintain pipelines integrating ledger, payments and collections, billing, credit-origination, and cloud data sources.
• Implement transaction-level data-quality tests and validations for financial models.
• Automate reporting, reconciliations, periodic closes, and recurring FinOps deliverables.
• Maintain stakeholder dashboards, handle ad-hoc financial analysis requests, and support KPI monitoring, forecasting, budgeting, and projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data, finance/accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced English proficiency required.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with analytical databases or data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
• Experience with ELT/ETL pipelines, incremental models, and historical data loads.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance fundamentals, including double-entry accounting, clearing, reconciliation, accruals, and BI dashboard design.
