Corporate Network Engineer

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon, with regular presence required 4+ days per week. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for office and facility buildouts. Relocation assistance to Portland is available if needed.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement wired and wireless corporate networks across the Portland campus and future facilities.
• Establish scalable network standards, architectural patterns, documentation, runbooks, and operational knowledge bases.
• Build high-performance wireless infrastructure for dense user environments, lab equipment, and diverse devices.
• Develop network automation, monitoring, and observability solutions for reliability and rapid incident resolution.
• Partner with Facilities, contractors, vendors, infrastructure, and DevOps teams on buildouts, equipment lifecycle planning, circuit procurement, and cloud connectivity.
• Implement segmentation, access control, 802.1X, firewall policies, and participate in on-call network support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating enterprise IP networks, especially in corporate or office environments.
• Proficiency with firewall management, routing protocols, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 switching.
• Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks at scale.
• Experience with network configuration automation and scripting, plus comfort with Linux/Unix and network troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards, IDF/MDF design, equipment installation, network segmentation, 802.1X, and firewall policies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience building network infrastructure and standards in high-growth startups or rapid-scale environments.
• Wireless site surveys, capacity planning, RF design, network observability, or office network migrations.
• Knowledge of building automation, IoT, industrial, or maritime networking environments.
• Familiarity with identity-based network access control, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 requirements.
• CCNA/CCNP, CWNA/CWDP, or equivalent certifications.
