Network and Systems Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding North Dakota, Vermont, and Rhode Island. US citizenship and the ability to obtain a United States Secret Clearance are required. Travel of up to 15% and an on-call rotation are required.

Salary: $147,000–$232,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $183,000–$274,000 annually.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, secure, and maintain resilient, high-availability physical and virtual networks and systems.
• Troubleshoot complex failures involving routing, switching, firewalls, virtual machines, storage, and compute infrastructure.
• Identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and update procedures and training.
• Perform preventative maintenance, backups, inspections, and hardware and software upgrades.
• Manage mid- to long-term network projects from initiation through completion.
• Create and maintain procedures, configurations, diagrams, change-control records, and corrective-action reports.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity and security engineering teams on vulnerabilities, STIGs, RMF, and ATO activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of demonstrable experience with routing and switching protocols, firewall policies, and virtual machines.
• Validated experience in networking or systems engineering.
• Familiarity with STIG, POAM, IAVM, and other government security policies.
• Active CCNA, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent certification; Security+ must be obtained within 45 days.
• Associate degree in computing, electronic engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience.
• US citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one are required.
• Availability for up to 15% travel and an on-call rotation is required.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CISSP, Palo Alto, or Red Hat RHCSA certification.
• Cloud infrastructure experience.
• Automation experience with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Nessus, Security Center, identity and access management, and securing diverse equipment and applications.
• Artificial intelligence fundamentals and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
