Network Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise and laboratory networks across multiple buildings and facilities.
• Architect and operate air-gapped and isolated networks with segmentation, access control, and security monitoring.
• Design and optimize networking infrastructure for high-performance compute clusters and low-latency engineering workloads.
• Configure and manage switching, routing, wireless, firewall, LAN/WAN, VLAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and QoS systems.
• Integrate on-premises and cloud networking for Azure and Microsoft 365 hybrid environments.
• Build resilient architectures, monitoring and alerting systems, documentation, and operational procedures; troubleshoot complex physical and virtual networking issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in an equivalent technical role.
• Experience designing and operating multi-building or campus networks, including fiber WAN connectivity.
• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
• Experience building and maintaining air-gapped or segmented network environments.
• Familiarity with HPC or other low-latency networking systems, plus network monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting tools.
• Ability to take full ownership from architecture through hands-on implementation and operations, including extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated technical operational environments.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, SDN, or network automation.
• Scripting and automation skills with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.
• Experience with ITSM, incident and change management, or configuration control.
• CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Juniper JNCIP, or equivalent certification.
