Senior CRE Underwriter

Location: Fully onsite in Tacoma, Washington, at 2228 South 78th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409.

Salary: $90,000–$160,000 per year, with potential performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Underwrite complex commercial real estate loans, including construction, bridge, and permanent financing.
• Prepare concise credit recommendations with quantitative analysis, risk ratings, policy exception identification, and accurate loan coding.
• Analyze appraisals, market data, sponsor contingent debt, global cash flow, refinance risk, and potential take-out financing.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, spread financial statements, test covenant compliance, and resolve approval or documentation violations.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Analysts to identify and mitigate credit risk and support customer relationship expansion.
• Review or oversee the work of commercial underwriters and credit analysts; coach and mentor colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced credit, accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash-flow analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management, written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external customer relationships.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel; occasional travel is required.
