Underwriter IV - Real Estate

Location: In-office role based in Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; or San Diego, California.

Base salary: $100,100.00–$202,800.00 annually, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Prepare offerings, scorecards, risk ratings, and recommendations for complex real estate transactions and assigned portfolios.
• Analyze credit, collateral strength, financial capacity, and transaction-party risk to identify mitigants.
• Make or recommend credit decisions and provide guidance on credit structuring.
• Gather and validate information from internal and external customers and support pre-approval and post-approval activities.
• Confirm regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Coach and review other underwriters, serve as a subject matter expert, and act as a work lead or manager backup when needed.

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years of industry-relevant experience and a bachelor's degree or comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting, credit analysis, financial analysis, risk assessment, and decision-making.
• Experience with real estate development, property data analysis, market research, sales closings, and agreements.
• Knowledge of IRS Code Sections 42 and 47, equity structures and documentation, and third-party guidelines.
• Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not available for this position.
• Ability to work in an in-office environment in Denver, Los Angeles, or San Diego.
