Underwriter IV - Commercial (Credit Risk)

Location: Remote-based in California, United States; occasional in-office participation may be required.

Salary: $91,000–$169,000 base salary annually, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Prepare offerings, scorecards, risk ratings, and credit recommendations for commercial transactions of varying complexity.
• Analyze credit, collateral strength, financial condition, and the creditworthiness of transaction parties.
• Manage ongoing credit risk for assigned portfolios and perform pre-approval and post-approval activities.
• Gather information from internal and external customers and resolve inconsistent, incorrect, or missing data.
• Confirm regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Coach and review other underwriters and support special projects or management coverage.

Requirements

• University or college degree, typically a bachelor's degree, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit decision-making.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, communication, critical-thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Must be based remotely in California; occasional office participation may be required.
