RCC Sr. Affordable Agency Underwriter

Location: Remote, USA; Clanton, Alabama, United States of America. National travel is required for property inspections and necessary training.

Salary: $123,600–$206,000 annual (USD).

What you will do

• Underwrite multifamily affordable housing transactions under Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs.
• Analyze rent rolls, operating statements, financial statements, appraisals, market studies, physical needs reports, and environmental reports.
• Size loans, assess credit risk, structure transactions, and resolve outstanding issues with originators and deal teams.
• Interview borrowers and property managers and coordinate with investor representatives, construction lenders, equity providers, and bond underwriters.
• Prepare underwriting narratives, committee packages, application submissions, and commitment reviews through closing.
• Address post-closing requests and mentor junior underwriters assigned to transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of underwriting or related experience; alternative path requires at least 11 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including 7 years of underwriting or related experience.
• Multifamily inspection training or similar work experience and credit training.
• Experience with taxable, tax-exempt, and preservation product types.
• Strong Excel, financial modeling, analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel nationally for property inspections and training.
