Senior Accountant (AI)

Location: New York City preferred; hybrid workplace, with remote candidates considered. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, or Wisconsin.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 base salary per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries and ledger reconciliations.
• Reconcile deferred revenue, support ASC 606 revenue recognition reviews, and collaborate with RevOps on contract-based invoicing.
• Support US GAAP financial statement preparation, analytics, and variance investigations.
• Assist with audit readiness, the year-end financial statement audit, and coordination with external tax accountants.
• Establish internal controls, maintain the accounting playbook, and improve accounting processes and systems.
• Contribute to ERP assessment, design, implementation, and maintenance of the Ramp spend management platform.

Requirements

• CPA designation required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 4–6 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles, including ASC 606, ASC 842, stock-based compensation, and SaaS revenue recognition.
• Experience with financial reporting and SaaS metrics.
• Demonstrated experience using AI to streamline workflows and improve processes.

Nice to have

• Public accounting experience.
• Experience at a venture-backed technology startup.
• Expertise with Campfire, Rillet, or NetSuite.
• Hands-on systems implementation experience and strong technical fluency.
