Prod Tech 3 (Optical Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, United States. D Shift: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM Thursdays through Saturdays, plus every other Wednesday. Compressed shift schedule, with overtime on short notice if needed.

Salary: $25.55–$31.95 per hour, plus an 18% shift differential.

What you will do

• Perform manual and automated assembly of optical components and modules according to manufacturing instructions and process specifications.
• Conduct in-process and final testing using specified equipment and procedures.
• Document production activities, test data, and quality-control information accurately.
• Identify and report product defects, process anomalies, and equipment malfunctions to supervisors or engineering staff.
• Follow cleanroom protocols, safety regulations, and quality-management requirements.
• Maintain an organized workstation and support continuous-improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in electronics, optics, manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in optics, electronics, or a related high-tech industry.
• Experience working with small components and precision tools such as microscopes, calipers, and soldering irons.
• Experience with test equipment and data-acquisition systems, plus the ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to work standing in a cleanroom while wearing a full bunny suit and PPE, with 20/20 corrected or natural vision for short- and long-range viewing.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
