Technician 3, Production (InP Wafer Fabrication)

What you will do

• Execute and maintain wafer fabrication processes for InP-based DFB lasers and gain chips.
• Fabricate and characterize DFB gratings using holographic lithography and Atomic Force Microscopy.
• Operate metallization, e-beam evaporation, wet etch, dry etch, photolithography, and SEM equipment.
• Monitor process profiles, film thickness, etch rates, uniformity, tool performance, uptime, and process stability.
• Own assigned wafer-fab process modules, maintain documentation, support preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Work with process engineers to maintain repeatable fabrication processes and improve manufacturing yield.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in InP wafer fabrication processing.
• Direct experience fabricating DFB lasers and gain-chip wafers in a compound semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in InP-based III-V semiconductor processes, including holographic DFB grating fabrication, metallization lift-off, wet chemical etching, and plasma dry etching.
• Proficiency with AFM, e-beam evaporation, photolithography, and SEM inspection.
• Ability to manage multiple wafer-fab process modules and troubleshoot process and equipment issues independently.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing documentation, cleanroom safety practices, and process control; an associate’s degree is preferred.
