Staff Product Designer, Consumer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in New York, San Francisco, or Salt Lake City, with on-site expectations of 2–3 days per week. Candidates outside these areas may be eligible for relocation assistance.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD for the NYC/Bay Area market; $170,000–$212,000 USD for Salt Lake City. Pay is adjusted based on geographic market conditions.

What you will do

• Lead design strategy, roadmap contribution, and end-to-end execution for a consumer product area.
• Own discovery, ideation, testing, visual design, prototyping, and implementation from beginning to end.
• Design clear and dignified financial flows, including error, pending, edge-case, and recovery states.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, analytics, risk, and compliance to define experiments, measure outcomes, and apply learnings.
• Conduct customer research and communicate insights that influence prioritization and roadmap decisions.
• Contribute to the Ultraviolet design system and use AI to improve design quality and velocity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer products.
• Experience owning a product or family of interconnected features in a complex domain.
• Strong experimentation skills, including A/B testing, funnel and cohort analysis, and data-informed iteration.
• Strong native mobile app design experience for iOS and Android.
• Expertise in Figma, AI-assisted sketching and prototyping, interaction design, visual design, and detailed prototyping.
• A portfolio demonstrating contributions to shipped solutions and the ability to explain design decisions.

Nice to have

• Fintech or regulated-environment experience, including disclosures or money movement flows.
• Experience in experimentation-heavy product organizations where changes ship behind feature flags.
• Frontend familiarity for making small changes and discussing feasibility with engineers.
