TL;DR
Technician II, Testbeds & EGSE (Space Systems): Building and maintaining HITL testbeds and electrical ground support equipment for satellite assembly, integration, and testing with an accent on harness fabrication, PCBA rework, and electrical troubleshooting. Focus on assembling rack-based infrastructure, repairing complex hardware, and documenting systems that spacecraft software and hardware teams depend on.
Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, 5 days per week. The position requires access to export-controlled information and candidates must meet applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.
Salary: $126,000–$146,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

designs, builds, and operates low Earth orbit satellite constellations and spacecraft systems for mission-critical Earth intelligence.
What you will do
- Assemble HITL testbed racks, avionics modules, wiring, and interconnects from drawings, block diagrams, and engineering direction.
- Build and maintain EGSE used to power, command, and monitor satellites during integration and testing.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair cable harnesses, including connectorization, pinning, crimping, and continuity checkout.
- Perform PCBA assembly and rework using surface-mount and through-hole soldering.
- Maintain power, network, and laboratory infrastructure and troubleshoot electrical issues with engineers using standard test tools.
- Perform light mechanical fabrication, track inventory, and document builds, modifications, and repairs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience assembling and maintaining electrical or electromechanical hardware.
- Demonstrated skill in harness fabrication, connectorization, pinning, crimping, and continuity testing.
- Experience with PCBA assembly and surface-mount and through-hole rework.
- Ability to use basic electrical test tools, including at least a multimeter, and work from drawings, schematics, and block diagrams with minimal supervision.
- Comfort working in a Linux-heavy development environment, with strong documentation, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Must work onsite in San Jose five days per week and satisfy applicable U.S. export-control access requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting test laboratories, HITL facilities, or similar engineering infrastructure.
- IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, or similar soldering and cable-assembly certification.
- Familiarity with Linux command line, Bash, or Python basics.
- Experience with rack-based electronics, networking, or power-distribution equipment.
- Aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability industry experience.
