Applications Engineering Manager (Nuclear)

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and manage application engineers supporting nuclear power generation customers and projects.
• Provide technical leadership for the selection, sizing, specification, and application of valves, actuators, instrumentation, and related control systems.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers, sales teams, and nuclear utilities.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, P&IDs, engineering requirements, and regulatory standards to develop compliant solutions.
• Support proposals, bid reviews, technical presentations, contract negotiations, and customer meetings.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams while mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, nuclear, or related engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience in nuclear power generation, power plant equipment, industrial automation, fluid control systems, or related industries.
• Knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and plant operations.
• Experience with control valves, isolation valves, safety-related valves, actuators, instrumentation, and associated control systems.
• Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills.
• Periodic travel of approximately 10–25% may be required.

Nice to have

• Leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering teams.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with commercial nuclear plants, SMR technologies, or nuclear EPC projects.
• Familiarity with nuclear and power generation industry standards and codes.
