Mechanical Engineering Manager (Nuclear) (Mechanical Engineering): Leading engineers and technicians developing safety-related instrumentation and control solutions for nuclear, aerospace, and industrial markets with an accent on team leadership, manufacturing, mechanical design, and engineering process improvement. Focus on managing customer-funded development projects, producing cost-effective engineering proposals, solving root-cause and quality issues, and delivering products on time and under budget.

Location: Round Rock, Texas, United States; onsite

Salary: $144,000–$160,000 annually, plus bonus

What you will do

  • Lead, manage, and develop engineers and technicians delivering products and services for nuclear, aerospace, and industrial markets.
  • Build a high-performance team, provide mentorship, manage onboarding and performance reviews, and support career development.
  • Coordinate engineering resources with Project Management for customer orders and development projects.
  • Manage and improve processes covering mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing, purchasing, quality systems, CAD, PDM/PLM, ERP, and corrective actions.
  • Lead engineering bids and develop viable, cost-effective technical proposals with Sales.
  • Communicate engineering status, risks, and opportunities while improving design quality, workmanship, delivery, and safety.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electronics; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience designing and manufacturing products.
  • Experience leading and managing teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, multitasking, and continuous-improvement skills.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • ASME certification.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification.
