Senior Category Manager, Direct Procurement Mechanicals (Hybrid - Acton, MA)

Location: Hybrid role requiring on-site work at an hirify.global office in Acton, Massachusetts, United States. Travel up to 25%, including international travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites.

Annual base salary: $128,000–$192,050 for U.S.-based positions, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Develop, lead, and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for springs, stampings, miscellaneous mechanical components, and Tier 2 mechanical suppliers.
• Manage supplier selection, relationships, performance, quarterly business reviews, and escalation resolution.
• Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, pricing, NDAs, statements of work, and purchase agreements.
• Analyze total cost, pricing, market conditions, supplier capabilities, and technology roadmaps.
• Drive year-over-year cost reduction and cost avoidance through negotiations, value analysis, value engineering, competitive leverage, and process improvements.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks while ensuring supplier capacity, supply chain resiliency, and continuity of supply.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience leading a metals category in sourcing, negotiation, contracting, supplier management, and project management.
• Experience in global strategic sourcing and supplier management for mechanical components.
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, materials, supplier bases, and industry trends related to springs and mechanical components.
• Demonstrated success in supplier selection, contract negotiation, supply chain scaling, supplier performance management, and measurable annual cost savings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
